Heating and Air Conditioning equipment, no matter what kind you have, should be inspected, cleaned, and serviced twice a year. The best scenario is to have the heating system checked in the Fall and the air conditioning checked in the Spring.

We suggest checking filters monthly. If you have a disposable filter we recommend replacing them once they are visually dirty. Don’t attempt to clean it. Some higher efficiency filters can go up to three months before needing replacement. But in the higher-use seasons, it’s better to check more often.

Installing a smart thermostat in your home helps you take control of how much energy you use for heating and cooling. If used effectively, a smart thermostat can help you improve energy efficiency and save money on your utility bills, usually paying for themselves in the first year.

If your HVAC system requires constant repairs, is 15 years or older, or can’t heat or cool your home properly, we recommend you replace it. When an HVAC system ages, it doesn’t operate as efficiently and could actually end up costing you more money than it should.

We know that fixing and buying a new air conditioner or furnace can be costly and have an impact on your expenses. We have great financing partners to make sure we can provide a solution that fits your budget.

You want to avoid putting a thermostat on any place in your home that is subject to more extreme temperatures. Avoid outer walls, or rooms that typically get warmer or cooler than the rest of your home.
